Moving Services from Switzerland to Germany
ARSA is a moving service in Amsterdam, specializing in large and small relocations. With a Big team, we are a moving company that provides local and international moving services.
Planning a move from Switzerland to Germany?
ARSA Transport provides professional international moving services from Zurich, Basel, Geneva, Bern, Lausanne and throughout Switzerland to Frankfurt, Munich, Stuttgart, Cologne, Düsseldorf, Berlin, Hamburg and destinations across Germany.
Our German operations are centred around Frankfurt, giving us particularly efficient access to Switzerland and southern and western Germany.
We handle moves from only a few cubic metres through to complete household relocations of 40 m³ and more.
Because Switzerland is outside the European Union customs territory, we can also assist with the customs process required when household goods enter Germany.
Moving from Basel to Germany
Basel is one of the most convenient Swiss locations for moving to Germany.
The German border is close, and major destinations such as Frankfurt, Karlsruhe, Stuttgart and Munich can be reached efficiently.
Popular Basel routes
Basel → Frankfurt
Up to 12 m³ from approximately €1,000
Basel → Munich
Up to 12 m³ from approximately €1,050

Basel → Berlin

Basel to Frankfurt is around 335 km, while Basel to Munich is around 395 km.
Switzerland to Germany Moving Prices
The final cost depends on the exact Swiss and German locations, volume, accessibility and required services.
For shorter Switzerland–Germany routes, the cost can be significantly lower than moving from Switzerland to northern Europe.
Example prices
| Route / volume | Indicative price |
|---|---|
| Small move 1–3 m³ | from €650 |
| Basel → Frankfurt up to 12 m³ | from €1000 |

| Zurich → Frankfurt up to 12 m³ | from €1100 |
| Geneva → Frankfurt up to 12 m³ | from €1450 |
| 24 m³ shorter Swiss–German route | from €1900 |
| 32 m³ shorter Swiss–German route | from €2300 |
| 40 m³ shorter Swiss–German route | from €3000 |
These are guide prices rather than fixed offers.
A move from Basel to Frankfurt is naturally different from Geneva to Berlin, so we calculate every relocation according to the actual route and household volume.
Basel to Frankfurt is approximately 335 km and around four hours by road, while Basel to Munich is approximately 395 km and around four and a half hours.
Moving from Geneva to Germany
Geneva requires a longer journey than Basel or Zurich, but it is still a strong route for international relocation.
Geneva to Frankfurt is approximately 580 km and roughly six hours of pure driving time.
A typical move of up to approximately 12 m³ from Geneva toward Frankfurt can start around €1,450.
For moves toward Berlin, Hamburg or northern Germany, we provide an individual quotation based on distance and volume.
What Moving Volume Do You Need?
ARSA Transport can arrange different vehicle capacities depending on the size of the move.
1–3 m³
Suitable for:
-
Student relocations
-
Boxes
-
Personal belongings
-
Small furniture
-
Several suitcases
-
Office equipment
Up to 12 m³
Suitable for many studios and smaller apartments.
Typical contents can include a bed, sofa, dining table, chairs, boxes, wardrobes, bicycle and smaller furniture.
24–32 m³
Suitable for:
-
Furnished apartments
-
Couples
-
Small family homes
-
Larger inventories
40 m³+
Suitable for complete household relocations.
For large moves, several vehicles can be coordinated as one moving operation.
This gives us more flexibility with access restrictions in city centres and residential areas than relying only on one large removal truck.
Customs from Switzerland to Germany
Switzerland is outside the EU customs territory, which means a Switzerland–Germany move requires customs formalities.
Swiss customs states that people exporting household goods as part of a relocation can present an inventory list showing their Swiss address and their new address abroad to the export customs office.
German customs specifically recognises household effects, personal belongings and other qualifying private property as potential relocation goods when a person transfers their residence into Germany.
Under EU rules, personal belongings may qualify for relief from import duties when certain requirements are satisfied. These generally include transferring normal residence from outside the EU, having normally lived outside the EU for at least 12 months, and having owned and used qualifying belongings for at least six months before moving.
We help organise the moving paperwork before transport so that the border process is planned rather than left until the day of collection.
