International Moving Services from Switzerland to the Netherlands
ARSA is a moving service in Amsterdam, specializing in large and small relocations. With a Big team, we are a moving company that provides local and international moving services.
Moving from Switzerland to the Netherlands
Moving from Switzerland to the Netherlands requires more than simply loading a van and driving north. Switzerland is outside the European Union customs territory, which means your household goods must be correctly exported from Switzerland and imported into the EU.
ARSA Transport provides complete moving services from Zurich, Basel, Geneva, Bern, Lausanne, Lucerne and other locations across Switzerland to Amsterdam, Rotterdam, Utrecht, The Hague, Haarlem, Eindhoven and throughout the Netherlands.
With operational bases in Amsterdam and Frankfurt, we regularly work across the Switzerland–Germany–Netherlands corridor and can handle moves ranging from a few cubic metres to complete household relocations.
Whether you are moving a small number of boxes, a one-bedroom apartment or a full family home, we can arrange the transport, movers, packing, furniture disassembly and assembly, and customs documentation required for the journey.
What Does 12 m³ Mean?
Many customers find it difficult to estimate a move in cubic metres.
A 12 m³ move is generally suitable for a studio or small apartment and may include, for example:
-
Moving boxes
-
Bed and mattress
-
Sofa
-
Dining table and chairs
-
TV and electronics
-
Wardrobe or chest of drawers
-
Bicycle
-
Small household furniture
A 24–32 m³ move is more typical for a furnished apartment or smaller family household.
A 40 m³+ move can cover a larger household with multiple bedrooms, living room furniture, wardrobes, appliances, bicycles and a significant number of boxes.
If you are unsure about your volume, send us an inventory list, photographs or a short video walkthrough. We can help estimate the required capacity before confirming the move.
Switzerland to Netherlands Moving Prices
Every move is different, but the volume of your household is one of the main factors determining the price.

|---|---|---|
| 1–3 m³ | Boxes|personal belongings | student move | from €950 |

| Basel | → Netherlands | — from €2000 |

These prices are intended as planning examples. The final quotation depends on the exact addresses, volume, accessibility, floors, elevators, packing requirements, customs requirements and requested moving dates.
For larger moves, we can allocate several vehicles and coordinate them as one relocation.
Moving from Zurich to the Netherlands
Zurich is one of our most common starting points for Swiss relocations.
We can collect household goods in Zurich and surrounding areas and deliver directly to:
Amsterdam, Rotterdam, Utrecht, The Hague, Haarlem, Hoofddorp, Eindhoven, Leiden, Amersfoort, Breda, Tilburg, Nijmegen, Arnhem and other locations throughout the Netherlands.
A typical small apartment move of up to approximately 12 m³ starts around €2,050.
Larger moves can be arranged using several vehicles, allowing us to handle complete household relocations without requiring a large articulated removal truck.
Moving from Basel to the Netherlands
Basel is particularly well positioned for relocations to the Netherlands because of its direct connection through Germany.
For a move of up to approximately 12 m³, prices start around €2,000.
Basel is also suitable for larger household moves because our teams can travel through Germany directly toward the Netherlands while coordinating customs clearance at the Swiss border.
Moving from Geneva to the Netherlands
Geneva is a longer route and requires additional driving time, but we regularly operate throughout Western Switzerland.
A typical move of up to approximately 12 m³ starts around €2,150.
We can also collect in Lausanne, Montreux, Nyon and surrounding areas before transporting the shipment toward the Netherlands.
Customs When Moving from Switzerland to the Netherlands
Because Switzerland is not part of the EU customs territory, household goods must be declared when leaving Switzerland and when entering the European Union.
For relocation exports, Swiss customs states that an inventory list showing your Swiss address and your new foreign address should be presented to the export customs office.
When someone transfers their normal residence from a non-EU country into the EU, personal household property may qualify for relief from import duties under certain conditions. EU rules generally require that the person has normally lived outside the EU for at least 12 consecutive months and that qualifying non-consumable belongings have generally been owned and used for at least six months before the move.
We help our customers understand what documentation is required before collection so that customs formalities can be prepared in advance.
Documents commonly required can include:
-
Passport or identification
-
Swiss departure or residence documentation
-
Proof of the new address in the Netherlands
-
Detailed household inventory
-
Evidence that the goods are personal household belongings
-
Vehicle documentation if a private vehicle forms part of the relocation
-
Additional customs declarations where applicable
Exact requirements depend on the customer's circumstances and the type of goods being transported.
Packing and Furniture Protection
International transport requires better preparation than a short local move.
Our team can provide:
-
Professional moving boxes
-
Furniture blankets
-
Protective wrapping
-
Stretch film
-
Mattress protection
-
TV protection
-
Fragile-item packing
-
Furniture disassembly
-
Furniture reassembly
-
Complete or partial packing service
For televisions and particularly fragile electronics, suitable protective packaging is strongly recommended.
Direct Transport or Flexible Delivery
Depending on the size and timing of your move, we can provide either a dedicated direct relocation or coordinate the transport around our existing Switzerland–Germany–Netherlands routes.
Dedicated transport is normally preferred for complete households and customers who require specific collection and delivery dates.
Smaller moves can sometimes be combined with existing routes, which can reduce the cost.
Storage in Amsterdam
If your new home in the Netherlands is not ready when you leave Switzerland, ARSA Transport can also provide storage in Amsterdam.
Your belongings can be collected in Switzerland, customs-cleared into the Netherlands and stored until you are ready to receive them.
Storage is particularly useful for:
-
Temporary accommodation
-
Delayed property handover
-
Renovations
-
Corporate relocation
-
International clients waiting for housing
-
Staged household moves
Once your new address is available, we arrange final delivery.
Insurance
Transport liability is included with ARSA Transport moves.
Our current standard transport liability cover is up to €30,000 per move, with additional insurance options available when arranged before transport.
Customers should inform us in advance about unusually valuable, fragile or specialist items.
